We get a hands on review of the Ikan DS2 Beholder 3-Axis camera Gimbal. This gimbal comes in a well padded zippered carrying case. Inside the case you get the gimbal, a micro USB wall charger, a mini screwdriver, and extra 1/4” mounting screw for the quick release plate. The gimbal is made from a machined aluminum alloy that is lightweight and very sturdy.

The handle for the DS2-A Beholder is thick and fits well in hand. On the bottom is a 3/8” threaded hole for mounting on a full sized or mini tripod. The max payload for the gimbal is 4 lbs.

On both sides of the gimbal are 1/4”-20 threaded mounting hole for accessories like a remote monitor or external mic. On the left side is a micro USB port for charging and on the right is a mini USB port for use with the wired joystick, which does not come standard.

The DS2-A features a 60 second Auto-Sweep mode, this allows you to program a 60 second camera pan. The Beholder DS2-A is lightweight, easy to use, and can be carried in your camera bag. In addition, the DS2-A is versatile enough to be used with a DSLR, mirrorless camera, GoPro or smartphone with extra attachment.
